A day at the home of cricket for PCC walking cricketers

8 Pirbright Penguins (walking cricketers) descended on Lords on 18th march to play in the 22 team nationwide festival. This included club teams, like ours, county teams and other groups such as an MCC side. The day was amazing fun and with 2 wins and almost a 3rd in a very close finish the penguins did themselves proud.

The walking cricket team play every Wednesday May - Mid September on the Pirbright green, unless there is an away game, and between 8 and 16 regularly take part. The rules are much the same as youth cricket with 8 players on the field, an Incrediball (soft ball) so theres no need for pads, batters batting in pairs for 4 overs per pair, so you keep batting but just loose runs if you loose a wicket, on a smaller pitch and of course....... NO RUNNING! Lots of socialising and coffee drinking then takes place after the games!

If you think think this might be for you please give it a go. We are a friendly bunch and would welcome some more players both retired cricketers and those of you who want to try something different in the summer sun. We already have some Grandparents of youth PCC members playing - what a great was to support them! Please get in touch for more details Pirbrightcccoaching@yahoo.com
