As a club we thought it would be a great opportunity to raise awareness of mental health and recognise the importance of our club community and the positive role we can play in our wider community.
Being part of a safe, positive environment is vital for our mental health and wellbeing because we thrive when we have strong support from others. They can make experiences more enjoyable, help us to feel happier, provide safety and support us in hard times.
This couldn’t be more obvious than when on the cricket pitch, whether this be a player lacking confidence, one stepping up to a new challenge or joining an unfamiliar team or simply on those days where things don’t go to play.
Our community is essential off the cricket pitch as well, therefore, over the coming days you will see some posters from Surrey Cricket Foundation go up around the club. These contain a QR code which will take you to a page with resources and tips to support mental health. Please take a moment to take a look and save this information should you need it in the future.
If you are worried, have any concerns or just need to talk please reach out. You do not have to struggle alone!
